I created this artwork during my first year of my masters in Landscape Architecture program in 2023 as with all of my art - a way to explore and express the emotions and inspiration I was feeling while learning the importance of rethinking/replanning the urban environments that humans live and work in.

Part of a series of artworks focusing on our environment and the beauty it creates. Calling out the dichotomy that most people in our society enjoy the beauty of floral arrangement as an object in our homes while failing to realize the purpose of flowers in our natural environment as part of the lure for pollinators to support in the regeneration of the next cycle for most plants including what we humans eat.

This artwork shows the slow drop of life of the flowers in vases as a symbol to the state of our planet. The abundance and magic of our planet is represented in a landscape painted in an impressionistic style showing intensity and texture as movement and living organisms in the background of the still life.

Also- This original painting was sold as part of a Sotheby’s Auction to raise funding for the amazing art high school I graduated from- Dreyfoos School of the Arts.
